After PC Gwen Cooper sees a dead man brought back to life, she sets about investigating. She traces it all to Jack Harkness and Torchwood but when she finally gets there, the Torchwood team have been expecting her. She's amazed with what she sees and learns that Torchwood is a private organization, working outside of government and keeping the world safe from alien beings. She also learns that Jack Harkness is immortal and cannot be killed. She's keen on the solving the murder she saw but Jack doesn't feel that's their business.
